How I saw the characters of BEFORE THE MORNING
No progress report this week, as all my time's gone into the release of Before The Morning, Book 2 of the Corpus Brides series.
I've been with this story for the past year and a half, got it brewing inside my head for all this time, though I actually put fingers to keyboard and started it back in August of 2011.
And all this time, these characters have been with me. I heard them talk, I saw them in their daily lives - I could literally picture them, full-bodied people...
This could be because I work with real people stepping in as my characters - I 'cast' all my stories, and today I wanna share with you how I saw the people in this book. Join me? :)
So, you already know the heroine is Rayne Cheltham. Here's how I pictured her:
The hero - well, I've had this huge, huge crush on Josh Holloway ever since I saw him on Lost, and he just had to be cast into one of my heroes. Who better than Ash Gilfoy, the sexy former cop turned paramedic, a man who looks like a roguish pirate and screams "dangerous bad boy" from a mile away? Who can resist that smile, those dimples?
Then there's the family drama in this story - Rayne's sister Shannon is marrying Ash's brother, Duncan. Rayne and Ash come home for the wedding, and this opens the way for a slew of characters who peopled my every waking moment for a loooong time as I wrote their story.
Here's the families:
At the start of the book, we're introduced to Rayne who is impersonating Irina, the wife of a Russian mobster. Since these Russian men are pivotal to the start of the story, I'm showing you what they looked like.
Not to forget, the Corpus people...
And just FYI - Book 3 of the Corpus Brides series features the above characters, since the story centers on Anastasiya, and Scott who's sent to 'recover' her from wherever she went into hiding. These two make a stunning couple, don't they? (yes, the love story angle in Book 3 is theirs!)
So there you have them - the cast of Before The Morning as I pictured them.
Curious to know how you, the ones who are reding this, pictured them...
Hope ye all have a lovely weekend! Mine will be super busy as we're having all 3 blokes' birthdays tomorrow.
From Mauritius with love,
